Stage 3 • The Preparation
Build Around What You'll Actually Use

Registry and gift planning can feel overwhelming, but the most helpful items are often the simple ones. Think soft layers, feeding pieces, cleanup items, comfort pieces, and everyday baby basics.
Prioritize the Things You Will Reach for Every Day
Bibs, burp cloths, swaddles, soft bodysuits. These are the items that get used constantly in the early weeks. Before you add anything else to your registry, make sure you have enough of the basics. You will go through more of them than you expect.
Quality Over Quantity, Every Time
A smaller number of well-made pieces will serve you better than a large collection of things that wear out quickly or do not hold up to daily use. When you are choosing what to register for or what to buy, lean toward items that are soft, durable, and easy to care for.
Think in Layers, Not Just Outfits
Babies need to be dressed and undressed constantly. Pieces that layer easily, snap quickly, and wash well are worth far more than anything that looks good but is hard to use. Build your registry around function first, and let the style follow from there.
Leave Room for What You Do Not Know Yet
Every baby is different. Some love to be swaddled tightly. Others want more room. Some go through six bibs a day. Others barely need them. Register for a solid foundation and leave some flexibility for the things you will figure out once baby is actually home.
The Everyday Essentials
Find soft, practical pieces built for the moments you will repeat every day. Designed to be used, washed, and reached for again.
